A Message from the Dana Center Leadership Team

For the past 30 years, the Dana Center has been focused on transforming K–12 and higher education to create more equitable access to an excellent math and science education—particularly for students who are underserved. With this deep experience in the field, we know that creating change goes beyond simply thinking or talking about it.

Creating change requires raising awareness, backed by bold action.

Given that equity is a centerpiece of the Center’s mission and vision, we stand in solidarity with those protesting the systemic racism that has plagued our nation, including but not limited to policing, housing, health care, and the education system.

The Dana Center is participating in #ShutDownAcademia, #ShutDownSTEM, and #Strike4BlackLives. This strike has been organized by Black scientists to create awareness and action to eradicate anti-Black racism.

The Dana Center will take this day to show our visible support as a Center and to individually fortify ourselves in recommitting to our personal and professional efforts to dismantle systemic racism—particularly toward equitable outcomes in education.

We believe that together we can create the change that is so very needed in the world. The task before us will require our strength and our courage.
