January 23, 2018|By Dana Center Communications

Inside Mathematics continues to gain recognition as one of the leading producers of quality free mathematics instructional resources for teachers.

Teacher Advisor With Watson, a new service from the IBM Foundation, invited Inside Mathematics to share some of its most popular elementary classroom videos.

Teacher Advisor is powered by IBM Watson, a cognitive computing system that curates and connects a growing set of best-in-class lesson planning and instructional guidance materials.

“We are always looking for engaging examples of high quality instruction” says Cliff Archey, IBM Foundation education programs manager.

“The videos available on Inside Mathematics are valuable additions to our corpus because of the quality instruction tangibly demonstrated in each, and because of their link to the Mathematical Practice standards, which we want to integrate into our resources more intentionally moving forward.”

Inside Mathematics, a service of the Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin, currently offers K–12 educators more than 500 video clips and 200 supporting resources.

“Inside Mathematics showcases excellent mathematics instruction for thousands of educators. As we continue to develop new resources, we’re happy to provide exceptional videos to Teacher Advisor With Watson to help provide high-quality, effective resources for educators,” said Doug Sovde, Dana Center director of K-12 Education Strategy, Policy, and Services.

Inside Mathematics resources join materials from other leading education organizations, including Achieve, Illustrative Mathematics, Share My Lesson, Student Achievement Partners, and UnboundEd.
