Dana Center Role

Steve works with Center staff to develop grant proposal submissions, serving as both writer and editor. In addition, he spearheads the production of professional progress reports for funders that communicate the impact of the funding, serving as both writer and editor. Steve coordinates the proposal and grant reporting processes, including managing the respective calendars and production schedules.

Steve manages the Center’s funding opportunity process, including serving on the determination committee. He researches and maintains a top funding prospect list for the Center. In addition, Steve works with program teams to identify potential funding sources, including federal, foundation, and corporate grants.

As part of the postaward process, Steve coordinates requests for scope of work and budget changes with funders. He also participates in check-in meetings with Center leadership to troubleshoot problems, identify budget issues, and review upcoming reports and proposals.

Before Joining the Dana Center

Prior to assuming his current position, Steve was a member of the Center’s communications and publishing team. He was lead editor for the fourth-year capstone course, Advanced Mathematical Decision Making.

Steve’s prior experience includes serving as a quality control director for a textbook production company, an editor for two mass-market business books and a racecar technology book, and an editor of engineering reports and specifications.
