Dana Center Role

Monica serves as a bilingual program coordinator for Literacy First, which is dedicated to providing high-quality reading interventions to K–2 students in low-income schools. She is responsible for supporting and supervising AmeriCorps members. Monica is also the lead K–2 intervention trainer for Spanish- and English-speaking members who tutor students in grades K–2.

Before Joining the Dana Center

Prior to her current role at Literacy First, Monica held several positions in the program. She served as a bilingual AmeriCorps member and Literacy First team leader. She was also the liaison between the program and the Title I school where she served. More recently, Monica was a capacity building member, helping AmeriCorps programs build strong and solid infrastructures.
