Advanced Quantitative Reasoning / Advanced Mathematical Decision Making
High school graduates need more mathematics than ever before, and they need to know how to use quantitative tools to solve problems in applied situations. This 12th-grade capstone course engages students in relevant problems and prepares them for higher education and the workplace.
AQR/AMDM follows Algebra II and emphasizes statistics and financial applications. It prepares students to use a variety of mathematical tools and approaches to model a range of situations and solve problems.
In Texas, the course was adopted by the State Board of Education under the name Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (AQR).
In other states, the course is called Advanced Mathematical Decision Making (AMDM).
The content of these courses is exactly the same.
