K–12 Systems Services

Building your education system’s capacity takes more than new resources or isolated professional learning—it requires aligned effort at every level of the system. We collaborate with you to implement integrated strategies for improvement. Our services are based on research and two decades of experience working with education systems at the state, district, and school level to strengthen and align local practices to improve student achievement.

We offer a coherent portfolio of professional learning sessions to enrich your content knowledge and professional toolset. Our sessions are most effective when experienced in series by teams from your school or district. Our standards-aligned leadership, mathematics, and science sessions are for educators and educational leaders in Texas and across the nation.

While we offer professional support in various configurations—from intensive one-to-two-day engagements to academies consisting of multiple sessions over a year’s time—our strong preference is to work with teachers and leaders as part of a long-term coherent effort to improve your district’s instructional practices.
Many of our short sessions are designed to provide you with a gateway to our comprehensive K–12 systems services.

District and School Improvement

Experience shows that one-size-fits-all approaches do not work when your charge is to improve education outcomes for your school, your district, or your state. We work with you to assess local strengths and challenges, identify appropriate tools, and enact the right strategies to address the gap between where the system is and where it needs to be in terms of capacity, professional culture, and student achievement.

What we offer

Drawing on our own research and practice over 20 years and on deep analysis of theoretical and practical research, we provide instructional and leadership development for department, campus, and district leaders, integrated with classroom teacher development. Our services are aligned to standards, can be scaled to reach every student in every class, and are intended to be sustained over time to significantly improve student learning.

Our work together must be focused directly on rigorous standards and measurable outcomes. We offer integrated professional learning both in person and online, as well as and onsite or virtual technical support sessions two strands to address the particular goals you seek to achieve:

Leader strand—for representatives from throughout the system, including central office administrators, campus administrators, instructional coaches, and key teacher–leaders
Teacher strand—for teacher teams made up of representatives from a given K–12 core content area

The strategies, processes, and tools presented in these sessions include written protocols that increase the likelihood of consistent outcomes and promote the transferability of ideas. Our deliberate use of protocols also means that after our work in the district, the knowledge of the “how-tos” resides in the protocol documents that stay with the district.
