Dana Center Role

Rachel Mallernee manages a diversified fundraising portfolio and multichannel communications strategy for Literacy First, which is dedicated to providing low-income schools with highly trained tutors to ensure that children advance in reading before the third grade.

Before Joining the Dana Center

Prior to her current role, Rachel was the regional development director at the American Cancer Society. Most recently, she served as the development and marketing director for The Arc of the Capital Area, an organization that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Throughout her career in the nonprofit sector, Rachel’s work involved frontline fundraising, event coordination, program delivery, donor relations, staff management, and strategic planning. She is a current board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Greater Austin Chapter.
