Dana Center Role
Amanda oversees the programmatic implementation of the AmeriCorps grant at Literacy First. Her duties include coordinating with state- and federal-level service initiatives and mandates, working directly to support Literacy First’s 106 AmeriCorps members in their year of national service, and managing recruitment efforts to hire our tutors each year.
Before Joining the Dana Center
Amanda served as the AmeriCorps project coordinator with Travis County’s 4-H CAPITAL Project, an Austin-based AmeriCorps program that focuses on increasing academic engagement through hands-on science, after-school programs. Before finding her niche in national service program support, Amanda’s career primarily involved informal science education and nonprofit outreach.
