Identifying Students Experiencing Homelessness
| Topic: | This webinar will focus on practical strategies school districts can implement quickly to identify children and youth experiencing homelessness in the district. We will briefly review how the number of homeless students in a district affects both local and state funding, as well as the laws requiring identification and the legal definition of “homeless”. Then we will provide an Identification Checklist with eight strategies to identify homeless students in your district. Any school or school district staff or community service providers are welcome to participate in this free training. We are pleased to offer free CPE/CEUs for this webinar! Participants will be able to download a CPE/CEU certificate after completing the one-hour training and evaluation on either April 27 or May 6. For the convenience of participants, we are also offering a condensed, 30-minute version of the training, which will be held on April 21. We cannot offer CPE/CEUs for this training. |
