Year-End Narrative for TEXSHEP Grant

Hello Everyone!

You are probably very busy gearing up for the 2007-08 school year—I hope it is successful and productive for you and your students!

We have received a few calls about the narrative report that is due in September, so it seems appropriate to send this reminder to everyone along with details about the narrative.

Year-End Narrative Report for Years One and Two of the Grant Cycle:

As stated on page I-48 of the RFA, by October 15, 2007, all TEXSHEP subgrantees must submit a written year-end narrative report of the overall success of their project, using the information gathered and analyzed for each need, objective, activity, and result at the conclusion of each grant year. Subgrantees must organize the report in the order below, capturing the critical parts of what worked and what didn't, including evidence of success and analysis of those things that were not as successful, in as concise a manner as possible. The report should follow the format below:

I. Brief Overview

  1. brief overview of the project implemented by the subgrantee, including the identified Needs

II. Progress Made

  1. progress toward achieving benchmarks
  2. the status of each activity, including any barriers that were diminished or eliminated because of the activity and the extent to which each activity contributes to meeting the objective
  3. status of collaborative efforts
  4. the extent to which established timeframes for each objective and each activity were met, and the degree to which the overall timeframe of the three-year grant cycle is on schedule
  5. any other information deemed relevant by the subgrantee

III. Changes for Next Year

  1. a description of the adjustments needed to make any activity more successful, including the addition or deletion of an activity
  2. any changes that will be made to district policy, procedure, or practices and how the changes will help to meet the objectives
  3. any other information deemed relevant by the subgrantee

Subgrantees may present information using any combination of narrative, graphs, charts, matrices, or other visual means of their choosing, following the outline above. Newspaper clippings, photos, or DVDs may also be submitted along with the narrative. Please include enough detail to allow the reports' readers to understand the project's accomplishments and any changes that will be made.

Please send the report to Region 10 ESC at the following address:
