TEKS for Leaders

Systems Thinking/Systems Changing: A Change Simulation

1-day session, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; fee $235

Systems Thinking/Systems Changing is a simulation game designed for educators working to improve their schools. Through this simulation, participants gain knowledge and experience in planning for and leading organizational change. Participants build their awareness of models, principles, and tools for organizational and individual change. To maximize the systems perspective, district-wide teams are encouraged.

These questions serve as the focus for this session:

  • What does it take to create a learning organization?
  • What are the attributes of effective change processes, and how can those attributes be put to work to make positive changes in our schools?
  • How do we make systemwide improvement?
  • How do individuals respond to change, and what is required to support them in the process?
