Effective Schools: Where Are We? Where Do We Go from Here?
1-day session, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; fee $235
The need for system-wide improvement continues to grow. So where do school leaders begin? During this one-day seminar, participants will engage in a process for self-analysis by comparing existing campus and district practices to research-based characteristics of effective schools. Using a simulated district, participants will gather evidence of effective schools indicators, determine the root cause of challenges, and set goals to close the gap between where we are now and where we want to be.
These questions serve as the focus for this session:
- What do effective schools look like and where are we in comparison?
- What process do I use for examining our current practices?
- What is a good planning process and where do we start our improvement plan?
