APCAT: Advanced Placement Capacity Assessment Tool
The Advanced Placement Capacity Assessment Tool is designed to help schools assess their ability to implement new Advanced Placement programs or expand existing ones.
Through the facilitated APCAT process, school teams review ways in which the regular program can support the AP program; use data for in-depth review of student participation and performance; and identify teacher leaders.
The focus of the APCAT is to provide schools an opportunity to increase student access to AP courses and actively recruit and support students who historically have been underrepresented in AP courses. For schools with no AP programs the APCAT provides a data-gathering and planning guide to address issues related to implementing new AP programs.
