Theodore Chao serves as a graduate research assistant at the Dana Center. He assists with the Academic Youth Development and the Algebra Intensification research projects.
Before coming to the Dana Center, Theodore worked as a GRA on the Scaling Up SimCalc research project. He has also worked as a teacher of 7th- and 8th-grade math at I.S. 318 in Brooklyn, New York.
Theodore Chao is currently a doctoral candidate in Science and Mathematics Education at The University of Texas at Austin, writing a dissertation examining mathematics teacher identity. Theodore holds a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering and a B.A. in Film and Media Studies from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.A. in Education from St. John's University.
