Rachel Jenkins

Senior Editor

Rachel Jenkins is the Dana Center's senior editor and leads its publications team, which produces products, collateral materials, and websites. The team also advises staff on all aspects of the publications process, from planning through production management, and works with the center's business director on intellectual property matters, including rights and permissions.

Before joining the Dana Center in 1996, she worked for seven years on The New Handbook of Texas history encyclopedia as a research assistant, writer, proposal coordinator, and editor. While pursuing her master's, she wrote for The University of Texas at Austin's Daily Texan newspaper and worked as a writing lab tutor and teaching assistant. She has more than 10 years' experience in proposal development and 20 years' experience in writing and editing.

Jenkins earned a B.A. in English from Angelo State University (summa cum laude) and an M.A. in English from The University of Texas at Austin. She holds certificates in fundraising, volunteer management, and nonprofit management.
