Lisa Brown is project manager and a principal author for the recent Dana Center initiative Academic Youth Development: Improving Achievement by Shaping the Culture of Algebra Classrooms. She also serves on the mathematics education team. In that role, she develops and delivers standards-based technical assistance for educators in Texas and elsewhere as part of the Dana Center's district services, which are designed to help school districts and campuses increase achievement and opportunities for all students.
Ms. Brown has extensive experience in educator professional development and as a classroom teacher of secondary mathematics. Her prior work includes leadership at the campus and district levels and professional development of educators at the state and national levels.
Ms. Brown holds a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in mathematics and a master of arts in curriculum and instruction from The University of Texas at Austin.
