Jodie Flint

Senior Program Coordinator

Jodie Flint is a senior program coordinator for the professional development team. In this position, she designs and facilitates professional development for school and district leaders throughout the country. These sessions focus on the tools and processes necessary to support systemwide implementation of a dynamic, standards-based curriculum for every student in every classroom.

Prior to joining the Dana Center in 2004, Ms. Flint was an adjunct faculty member of the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin, where she coordinated the TIES (Teacher Induction, Education, and Support) Program. Ms. Flint has seventeen years of experience as a classroom teacher and campus administrator.

She holds a B.A. in English and Studio Art from Southwest Texas State University and an M.Ed. in Education Administration from Trinity University. Currently, Ms. Flint is a doctoral candidate in Curriculum Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation study examines the tensions among the notions of curriculum described in federal and state education policy, the senses of curriculum held by teachers, and the curriculum that happens in classrooms within/among those tensions.
