On March 7, the Albert Shanker Institute released a statement calling for the development of common curriculum guidelines to support implementation of the Common Core State Standards and thus “build a bridge from standards to achievement.”

Seventy-five education, business, and government leaders, representing a wide range of political ideologies, signed the statement. Among the original 75 signatories is Dana Center director Uri Treisman.

Release of the statement and its implications are covered in depth in a New York Times story and an article in Education Week.
