In an effort to increase the educational achievement of students who are experiencing homelessness, the Office for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth (OEHCY) at the Charles A. Dana Center of the University of Texas at Austin was awarded a grant from the Department of Commerce in the Fall of 1998. This grant is part of a nationwide competitive grant program administered by TIIAP (Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure Assistance Program). This program is now known as the Technology Opportunities Program.
