Lisa Brown is a senior program coordinator for the mathematics education team. She develops and delivers standards-based technical assistance for educators throughout Texas as part of the Dana Center's Partnership for High Achievement, which is designed to help school districts and campuses improve the performance of all their students. She is also a principal author of the mathematics content for the recent Dana Center initiative "Academic Youth Development: Shaping the Culture of Ninth-Grade Algebra I Classrooms."
Ms. Brown has extensive experience in educator professional development and as a classroom teacher of secondary mathematics. Her prior work includes leadership at the campus and district levels and professional development of educators at the state and national levels. She has also been a key participant in several Dana Center projects, including development of TEXTEAMS professional development institutes, Mathematics Standards in the Classroom, Grades 6–8, and Middle School Mathematics Assessments: Proportional Reasoning.
Ms. Brown holds a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
