David Hughes

Senior Program Coordinator

David Hughes serves as a senior program coordinator in the Partnership for High Achievement and as a member of the mathematics education team. In this position he primarily works with elementary school teachers and administrators to foster student learning.

Prior to joining the Dana Center in 2004, Mr. Hughes worked as an elementary mathematics facilitator and as an elementary school teacher. He has effectively led professional development for elementary school mathematics teachers and leaders since 1996 and has taught preservice teachers at The University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Hughes currently serves as the Central Regional Director of the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Mr. Hughes holds a B.S. in education from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.Ed. in elementary education from Southwest Texas State University.
