Carolina Guajardo
Training Specialist
Carolina serves as a training specialist for the AmeriCorps for Community Engagement and Education (ACEE) program at Lucy Read PreK Demonstration School. She provides initial training, ongoing support, and supervision for bilingual tutors; writes the lesson plans for the bilingual classrooms in conjunction with Chetan Makan; and communicates regularly with bilingual classroom teachers. In addition, Carolina coordinates ACEE's successful parent literacy workshop series First Teachers, which provides parents with explicit instruction about the preK curriculum and activities parents can do at home to support their children’s academic development. Prior to coming to ACEE, Carolina was an early childhood teacher at the bilingual preschool La Escuelita de Alma in downtown Austin.
