Bergeron Harris

Program Director

Bergeron Harris is Program Director for the Division of District Services at the Charles A. Dana Center. In his role at the center, Dr. Harris provides leadership and training support for school districts engaged in the Partnership for High Achievement and various other math and science support initiatives.

With over twenty-five years as an educator, Dr. Harris has served in various positions that include classroom teacher, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, and secondary education director. During his years as a campus leader, one of his schools received a First Place Academic Team award from the National Middle School Association, a Texas Successful Schools Award, and a Texas Blue Ribbon School Award from the Texas Education Agency.

During the years he worked as a district administrator, Dr. Harris was named the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals Middle School Principal of the Year for Region XIII and was also selected as a finalist for the TASSP state principal of the year award. Other awards Dr. Harris has received include a Distinguished Service Award from the City of Austin for commitment to education in Austin and the University Council of Educational Administration's national award for his contributions toward the training and development of aspiring school leaders.

Dr. Harris has a B.A. in English Education from Dillard University in New Orleans, a Masters in Educational Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and a doctorate in Educational Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
