Translating the Science TEKS into Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (Grades K–5, 6–8, or 9–12)
A two-day session

This session builds on Investigating the New Science TEKS by continuing the study of the science TEKS and adding an exploration of the assessed curriculum under the STAAR system.
Through discussion and exemplar activities, you will gain increased knowledge of the depth and rigor of the science TEKS. The knowledge you gain will enable you to better align your classroom curriculum, instruction, and assessment to the new standards.
You will also have the opportunity to experience the types of scientific investigations (descriptive, comparative, and experimental) required by the new TEKS.
Participants will receive a copy of the Dana Center's publication K–12 Science TEKS.
