A Study of the TEKS:
Tools and Processes to Strengthen the Alignment of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (Grades K–12)
A one-day session, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fee: $249

- Teachers across all content areas
Content focus:
- All four core content areas: English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies
Grade-level focus:
- Elementary school
- Middle school

This session is designed for instructional specialists and coaches, instructional and other leaders, and educators across all content areas, kindergarten through 12th grade.
You will gain a strong working knowledge of the Texas standards—the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills—and will learn strategies for increasing how well your school's curriculum, instruction, and assessment align to the TEKS.
This session is well suited to professionals of all levels of experience who are seeking to deepen your own and others’ understanding of the state standards.
In this session, you will:
- Gain a deep working knowledge of the standards and how they affect teaching and learning.
- Acquire the tools and skills necessary to strengthen alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the core content areas.
- Learn how focusing on the TEKS affects student achievement.
