Audience:
Grade-level focus:
In this session, you will learn processes for exploring the depth, rigor, and complexity of the standards. You will collaborate with other participants to examine how an idea is developed throughout the standards by tracing its articulation from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Through these processes, you will explore how the components that make up a standard—introduction, strand, knowledge and skills, and student expectations—create a structure that supports teaching, learning, and collaboration.
Working with other participants, you will examine the implications of these explorations for the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Your study of the standards can also support effective instructional intervention and enrichment.
