STAAR Chemistry: Assessment Activities for the Texas Readiness Standards

In this session, teachers, instructional specialists, and coaches will learn an effective strategy for preparing students for the chemistry end-of-course exam under the STAAR system.
This strategy centers on a set of interactive, hands-on chemistry assessment activities the Dana Center has developed. These activities give students the opportunity to review the chemistry readiness standards that will be tested on the end-of-course exam.
You will have the opportunity to engage in some of the assessment activities, and you will learn tips and techniques for successfully implementing the teaching strategies embedded in STAAR Chemistry, including an "at-a-glance" strategy for monitoring student progress.
Participants will receive a DVD of the activity modules.
