Elementary Measurement (Grades K–5)
A one-day session
Audience:
- Elementary school teachers
- Instructional specialists and coaches
In this session, you will examine key instructional approaches and strategies for engaging elementary students to improve their measurement skills and increase their achievement.
In collaboration with other participants, you will investigate the measurement standards (TEKS) in depth and clarify the relationship between these TEKS and the new State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) system. You will also refine your understanding of what students must learn about measurement at each grade level and how the grade-level expectations relate to each other.
