Integrating High School Science: Meeting the TAKS Challenge

High school science teachers will:
- Explore how to provide students with multiple opportunities to learn science concepts using these materials.
- Use a variety of research-based strategies to enable students to make real-world science connections.
- Learn how to use these materials to help students:
- Use multimedia materials and other technologies.
- Discover how science affects their daily lives.
- Use critical thinking skills to solve problems.
- Engage in guided internet research and cooperative learning.
- Receive a copy of the Dana Center resource Integrating High School Science: Meeting the TAKS Challenge.
- This resource consists of eight modules that integrate Biology and Integrated Physics and Chemistry.
- These modules are designed to promote student learning as described in the TEKS and to promote student success on the TAKS within a comprehensive science program.
