Early registration fee: $398; Standard registration fee: $428

Equipment note:

  • Participants should bring a graphing caculator and laptop.

Audience:

  • Teachers
  • Instructional specialists and coaches

In this session, you will engage in hands-on investigations of real-world situations that incorporate algebraic connections, coordinate geometry, conjecture, and justification into the topics of geometric structure and transformations.

The investigations are designed to explore the depth of geometric knowledge described in the state standards and to help students acquire rich knowledge of geometry concepts and the ability to critically apply that knowledge to solve problems.

You will collaborate with other participants to work through some of the investigations using multiple methods—including modeling and technology—to solve the problems.

This session will also help ensure that you, your campus, and your district are prepared for the implementation of end-of-course exams, which begin with the freshman class of 2011–2012.
