Elementary Core Science Units: Training of Trainers
½ day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., fee $125
Education service center, district, and campus instructional specialists who have completed the Elementary Core Science Units three-day training will:
- Interact with Dana Center staff and other potential trainers to learn how to effectively deliver the Elementary Core Science Units to elementary school teachers in their districts.
- Receive guidelines and tools to help communicate an approach that vertical teams can use to examine the articulation of the kindergarten–grade 5 science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
- Receive (in addition to the Dana Center resource Elementary Core Science Units: TEKS-Based Activities in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion, which will be provided to trainers in the required three-day training):
- PowerPoint presentations for delivering the modules.
- A protocol for delivering the materials and Dana Center guidelines regarding use of the copyrighted materials.
