Elementary Core Science Units

3 days, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., fee $547

Instructional specialists and elementary school teachers will:

• Learn an approach that vertical teams can use to examine the articulation of the kindergarten–grade 5 science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
• Learn how to implement three vertically aligned, TEKS-based curricular units—earth science, physical properties, and force and motion.
• Receive a copy of the Dana Center resource Elementary Core Science Units: TEKS-Based Activities in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion.

  These units emphasize a hands-on, directed-inquiry approach designed to help students develop an understanding of core science concepts as they progress through elementary school.
