Elementary Core Science Units:
Training of Trainers in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion (Grades K–5)
A half-day session, 9 a.m. to noon Fee: $125
Audience:
- Educators who provide content support for elementary science teachers, including instructional specialists and coaches and professional development providers.

Grade-level focus:
- Elementary school (grades K–5)
This half-day session is designed primarily for education service center, district, and campus instructional specialists and coaches who provide content support for elementary science educators.
In this session, you will:
- Learn how to effectively deliver professional development on the pedagogy and content of the Elementary Core Science Units to elementary school teachers.
- Receive guidelines and tools to help implement an approach that vertical teams can use to examine the articulation of the K–5 science TEKS.
- Receive (in addition to the Dana Center publications Elementary Core Science Units: TEKS-Based Activities in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion, which are provided during the required preceding three-day training):
- PowerPoint presentations for delivering the three Elementary Core Science Units modules, and
- A protocol for delivering the materials.
