Elementary Core Science Units:

Training of Trainers in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion (Grades K–5)

A half-day session, 9 a.m. to noon Fee: $125

  • Educators who provide content support for elementary science teachers, including instructional specialists and coaches and professional development providers.

  • Elementary school (grades K–5)

This half-day session is designed primarily for education service center, district, and campus instructional specialists and coaches who provide content support for elementary science educators.

In this session, you will:

  • Learn how to effectively deliver professional development on the pedagogy and content of the Elementary Core Science Units to elementary school teachers.
  • Receive guidelines and tools to help implement an approach that vertical teams can use to examine the articulation of the K–5 science TEKS.
  • Receive (in addition to the Dana Center publications Elementary Core Science Units: TEKS-Based Activities in Earth Science, Physical Properties, and Force and Motion, which are provided during the required preceding three-day training):
    • PowerPoint presentations for delivering the three Elementary Core Science Units modules, and
    • A protocol for delivering the materials.

Note: To enroll in this Training of Trainers, you must have enrolled in (or previously completed) all three days of the Elementary Core Science Units content training (earth science, physical properties, and force and motion).
