Algebra II and Beyond
A two-day session, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fee: $398

This session is designed for instructional specialists, coaches, and teachers of Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics.
You will investigate selected problem situations (from TEXTEAMS and other sources) from a perspective of how advanced problems build from previous coursework and how this progression supports college readiness.
You will also be provided the opportunity to use appropriate tools and instructional strategies, including technology.
In this session, you will:
- Explore how foundational mathematics concepts from Algebra I are further developed and extended in subsequent mathematics courses.
- Develop an understanding of how the TEKS differentiate between common mathematical topics in Algebra II and Precalculus and examine the vertical alignment of these TEKS as they lead to Statistics and Calculus.
- Learn instructional strategies for increasing student understanding and success in Algebra II and Precalculus to build a foundation for success in Statistics and/or Calculus.
- Collaborate with professional mathematics colleagues around learning and implementing additional instructional strategies in Algebra II, Precalculus, Statistics, and Calculus.
- Investigate how the TEKS support college readiness.

able to bring a laptop with wireless capability, Flash, and the
Firefox 3.0 (or later) web browser.
