This session is designed primarily for instructional specialists, coaches, and teachers of Algebra I.

You will explore in depth the functional relationships of algebra and use a set of research-based instructional strategies and tools designed to deepen student understanding and increase student achievement in Algebra I.

In this session, you will:

  • Gain hands-on experience with research-based instructional strategies by collecting and manipulating data sets that generate linear and quadratic algebraic patterns.
  • Learn instructional strategies for increasing student understanding of linear and quadratic relationships in data.
  • Use appropriate tools and STEM-focused instructional strategies, including technology.
  • Collaborate with professional mathematics colleagues around learning and implementing additional instructional strategies in algebra.
