  • Instructional specialists and coaches

The Dana Center's Algebra I Assessments publication provides 70 performance tasks in five categories, drawing from the Algebra I state standards. This session is designed to show teachers how to use these Algebra I assessments as a powerful tool for shaping effective classroom instruction through ongoing assessment.

This session will help you ensure that your students are prepared for success on the STAAR end-of-course exam. You will examine how the book's assessment tasks align with the Algebra I state standards and end-of-course exam, and you will learn how to analyze and interpret student thinking and reasoning on the tasks. You will also collaborate with other participants to develop instructional strategies that lead to student success.

Participants will receive a copy of the Dana Center publication Algebra I Assessments: Performance Tasks Aligned to the Texas Standards (2nd edition, 2009).

The Algebra I Assessments book is available for purchase.
