A model lesson teachers can implement in their classroom. Clarifying Lessons combine multiple TEKS statements and may use several Clarifying Activities in one lesson. Clarifying Lessons help to answer the question "What does a complete lesson look like that addresses a set of related TEKS statements, and how can these TEKS statements be connected to other parts of the TEKS?"
The following Clarifying Lessons are examples of Mathematical Models with Applications lessons for music, art, and modeling in general.
Until course-specific materials are developed for the finance part of the course, teachers may adapt lessons from previous Mathematics of Money textbooks or from other resources.
Students use an electronic data-collection device to model the sound produced by a guitar string. TEKS addressed in this lesson: M.2.A; M.8.C; M.9.B.
Students use interactive geometry exploration software (GES) to create a two-point perspective drawing. TEKS addressed in this lesson: M.1.A, B, C; M.9.A.
Students use numeric techniques to write the equation of a line that represents motion data. TEKS addressed in this lesson: M.1.B, C; M.2.A, D; M.3.C.
