The Mathematics Toolkit and Science Toolkit provide resources to help teachers implement the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and strengthen mathematics and science education in Texas.

Professional Development and District Services

Our Professional Development opportunities provide Texas education leaders with resources to successfully implement the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and improve student learning and achievement on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).

District Services provide focused learning opportunities for individuals, small groups, campuses, and districts.

More P–16 Projects

Advanced Mathematical Decision Making is a proposed fourth-year mathematics course to follow Algebra II. The course would be an alternative to Pre-Calculus and prepare all students for college or the workplace.

AP Equity develops resources to increase the enrollment and success of Texas high school students in advanced mathematics and science coursework.

Higher Education: P–16 Connections is a constellation of projects focused on higher education efforts to support P–16 mathematics education.

The Mathematics Benchmarks, Grades K–12 features Achieve's K–12 benchmarks for mathematics and their model high school coures based on those benchmarks. The site provides access to other related resources, including the Dana Center's sample tasks.

The Practices Worthy of Attention examined 22 program, school, and district practices that showed promise of strengthening secondary mathematics teaching and learning.

The Research and Evaluation team provides research-based evaluations of educational programs, conducting both internal and external evaluation projects.

The Urban Mathematics Leadership Network (UMLN) brings together representatives from large urban districts to address common challenges of creating coherent and aligned systems to improve mathematics programs.

Community Outreach

AmeriCorps for Community Engagement and Education (ACEE) works with local high-poverty elementary schools to provide tutoring services to young children.

The Texas Homeless Education Office (THEO) provides resources and services to ensure that all Texas children living in homeless situations have the opportunity to enroll in, attend, and succeed in school.

Teacher Quality Program

The Teacher Quality Program is a federally funded effort providing grants to higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations to promote improved instruction in mathematics and science for Texas school children by providing training for their teachers.
