Resources for implementation

The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics were developed by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers, in collaboration with experts in mathematics and other stakeholders experts across the country. The CCSS for Mathematics are designed as a set of expectations for student knowledge and skills that high school graduates need to master to succeed in college and careers.

The Dana Center has been involved with standards-based education since the mid-1990s, when we collaborated with experts across the state of Texas to develop the first iteration of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Mathematics.

Today, we continue to collaborate with states, districts, schools, and communities to strengthen education systems to provide all students with reliable pathways to upward mobility.

Toward that end, we are collaborating with education publisher Agile Mind, nonprofit the Aspen Institute, and states and school districts across the nation to offer an integrated suite of resources and services to support educators in implementing the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics.

This work is supported in part with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Our goal is to support teachers and other education leaders as they work to ensure that every student, in every classroom, on every day, has access to a rigorous curriculum and excellent teaching—the keys to ensuring that all students can achieve and succeed.
