ACE Alumni Tutors Named AISD Teachers of the Year

Congratulations to former ACE tutors Charlie Hirst and Noreen Naseem Rodriguez, who were both named AISD Teachers of the Year! Hirst teaches at Allison Elementary, and Naseem Rodriguez teaches at Dawson Elementary.
ACE tutors receive extensive training and intensive experience in providing high-quality literacy tutoring during their time of service to ACE. After completing their AmeriCorps service, approximately 30% of ACE tutors remain in the education field. These awards recognize that the training and experience ACE tutors get prepares them to become outstanding teachers.
Two other ACE alumni were named AISD Teachers of Promise: Desiree Holt from Graham Elementary and Beth Tousek from Govalle Elementary.
