New Name—Same Great Program

November 2009

Since 1997, AmeriCorps for Community Engagement and Education, or ACEE, has been known by our participants and friends as "ace." We've decided it's time for ACEE to become PC—phonetically correct! We are the same great program. We still provide quality literacy support to prekindergarten, kindergarten, and first-grade students and support parents as partners in their children's education through engaging AmeriCorps tutors in a meaningful and productive year of service.

Our new name, ACE—A Community for Education, is phonetically regular, easy to pronounce, and—most important—it reflects what is at the heart of our mission: We engage a diverse corps of tutors—parents from our schools, current college students, recent college graduates, and community members—and together we create and nurture a community in support of educational equity and quality early learning experiences for all children.

Please be patient with us as we roll out our new name and rebuild the website accordingly. And stay tuned for our new logo to be released in January.
